What is Tetrahydrocurcuminoids (THC)?

THC is one of the major active metabolites of curcuminoids that have significance as therapeutic interventional molecules. They are colourless hydrogenated products derived from the yellow curcuminoids of turmeric (Curcuma longa).

How does THC work?

THC provides strong antioxidants that protect body’s cells from damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals formation. Traditionally used for relief of joints and muscular pain, it is a natural way to reduce inflammation. It is able to reduce common symptoms of inflammation include redness, warmth, swelling and pain on joints and muscular area.

What are the advantages of taking curcumin in the form of THC?

Our body has to convert curcumin into THC in order to be absorbed into the blood stream. In other words, THC is the active form of curcumin that are absorbed three times better than regular curcumin. Therefore, the daily recommended dosage is only 400mg unlike regular curcumin because it works three times better being a stronger antioxidant.

Is THC safe for consumption?

THC is derived from turmeric which is a common spice used in Asian cuisine. Therefore, it is safe for long term consumption following recommended dosage.

Is THC recommended for children, pregnant and/or breastfeeding women?

THC is not recommended for children, pregnant and/or breastfeeding women unless recommended otherwise by a healthcare professional.
